MAT PBT 2026 Exam On September 13: Reporting Time, Documents to Carry & Exam Day Guidelines

With registration for the Common Admission Test closing September 15 and the exam itself scheduled for November 29, candidates would do well to start locking in exam-day logistics early because CAT centres are notoriously strict, and even a small slip-up can cost you your shot at the exam entirely. Here's a complete, practical breakdown of everything to carry, wear, and avoid on CAT 2026 exam day.

Reporting Time

CAT 2026 will be conducted in three sessions, following the pattern used in recent years:

Carry the same photo you uploaded during registration; centres sometimes require an extra copy for the attendance sheet.

What You Cannot Bring Into the Exam Centre

Leave the following at home or locked in your vehicle, most centres offer no safe storage, and anything left outside the gate is entirely at your own risk:

Bluetooth devices, earphones, and other electronic gadgets

Study material, notes, or printed reference sheets

Wallets or bags beyond what's essential (most centres restrict even bags)

Any digital or analog watch

Quick Pre-Exam Checklist

Use this the night before to avoid last-minute scrambling:

Two printed copies of admit card

One original photo ID matching admit card details

Extra passport-size photograph

Simple, pocket-free/minimal-pocket outfit laid out

Slippers or simple footwear

No watch, jewellery, or electronic device packed for the day

Route and travel time to the centre confirmed in advance

Alarm set with enough buffer for at least 90 minutes' reporting time

Documents to Carry on Exam Day

Since this exam is taken by school and college students across Rajasthan, parents and guardians should help young candidates prepare this checklist a day in advance:

A printed copy of the RSCIT Admit Card

One original photo ID proof like Aadhaar Card, School/College ID, Voter ID, or Passport

A blue/black ballpoint pen for filling the OMR sheet

A small transparent pouch to carry these items

Exam Advisory: Dos and Don'ts for Students

Do:

Reach the exam centre at least 30–45 minutes before the reporting time

Cross-check your name, photo, roll number, and exam centre address on the admit card as soon as it's downloaded

Get a good night's sleep before the exam and eat a proper meal beforehand

Carry a valid original ID, not a photocopy

Read OMR-filling instructions carefully before starting

Don't:

Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or any digital devices inside the centre

Do not bring notes, books, or any study material into the exam hall

Do not wait until the last day to download or print the admit card

Do not panic if you spot an error on the admit card, you can get it corrected through your RSCIT training centre before exam day, not on the day itself

Important Points for Parents and Guardians

Since many RSCIT candidates are school-going children or first-time exam takers, a little extra guidance goes a long way:

Help your child verify all admit card details early, so there's time to fix any mistakes

Plan the route to the exam centre in advance to avoid last-minute stress

Reassure your child that RSCIT has no negative marking, so attempting every question is a safe strategy

Keep a backup printout of the admit card at home in case the original gets damaged or misplaced
