What NTA Has Confirmed
NTA has formally confirmed that the Result and Rank for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 session are now live on the official portal, following up on its initial press release from August 29. Registered candidates can log in and view, download, or print their scorecard directly from csirnet.nta.nic.in.
Did You Know?
CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 saw 1.88 lakh registrations, but around 37,682 candidates never appeared for the exam. For those who did, clearing NET is not necessarily the end goal, it can be the beginning of another competitive race for JRF, Assistant Professor opportunities or PhD admission. And when your preferred academic opportunity doesn’t work out, waiting for the next cycle can cost valuable time.
That’s why keeping a Plan B with an Online Degree from a UGC-approved university can make a difference. Instead of putting your education on pause, you can continue building your qualifications while preparing for your next academic or career move.

What Does Qualifying CSIR NET Actually Get You?
CSIR-UGC NET isn't a single pass/fail outcome; it's an eligibility test with three possible outcomes, depending on your score and rank within your subject and category:
- Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): The highest-tier qualifying candidates become eligible for a research fellowship stipend alongside PhD admission.
- Assistant Professor eligibility: A separate, slightly lower qualifying bar makes candidates eligible to apply for Assistant Professor positions at universities and colleges, even without the JRF fellowship.
- PhD admission only: Candidates clearing the minimum benchmark but not the higher merit cut can still use their qualification for PhD admission, without fellowship or Assistant Professor eligibility.
