Big Change: FMGE Now Held Thrice a Year
Until now, FMGE was conducted twice annually in June and December. Starting this cycle, NBEMS has added a third session in October, giving foreign medical graduates an extra opportunity each year to clear the screening test and register to practice in India. The October 2026 exam is the first edition under this revised, three-times-a-year schedule.

FMGE October 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, make sure you meet these requirements:
- Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). Foreign nationals without OCI status generally cannot appear for FMGE.
- Medical qualification: You must have completed an MBBS or equivalent primary medical degree from a foreign institution, verified by the concerned Indian Embassy, and must have met the academic and age requirements that were applicable at the time of your admission to that course.
- Exemption: Candidates who completed their medical degree in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, or the USA are exempt from FMGE and can register directly with the National Medical Commission (NMC) and their State Medical Council.

Based on the standard FMGE fee structure applied in recent sessions, candidates can expect to pay approximately ₹6,195 (₹5,250 exam fee plus 18% GST), payable online via credit card, debit card, or net banking.
