New Delhi is set to host the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam from September 11 to 13, and with a high-profile international gathering of this scale comes heightened security. Delhi Traffic Police and other authorities are expected to impose route diversions and restrictions in several parts of the city in the days leading up to and during the summit, which overlaps closely with the September 9–10 re-exam dates. Anticipating that this could affect candidates' commute, NTA proactively issued an advisory urging early travel planning, even though the exam centres themselves are not located in the zones expected to face direct restrictions.

UGC NET June 2026 saw 7.74 lakh registrations and 6.07 lakh candidates appear, but only 1.48 lakh qualified. That means 4.60 lakh candidates who appeared did not qualify, nearly 76% missed the qualification criteria.

Given that reporting deadlines at NTA exams are strictly enforced, even a short delay caused by unexpected traffic could mean missing your shift entirely, so treat this advisory as a serious heads-up rather than a routine notice.
This re-examination isn't a routine event, it follows the discovery of spelling and factual errors in the English, Commerce and Sociology question papers during the original UGC NET June 2026 cycle. Results, final answer keys, and cut-offs for the remaining 84 subjects from that session have already been declared; only these three subjects are being retested. Candidates appearing for the re-exam won't be charged any additional fee, since this is being conducted to correct the original error rather than as a fresh attempt initiated by candidates.
